Dit is Lorenza Izzo, DiCaprio’s vriendin in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Lorenza Izzo kende je waarschijnlijk nog niet van naam, maar haar gezicht heb je vast al eens voorbij zien komen. Ze speelt Francesca Cappuci in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, de vriendin van Leonardo DiCaprio’s personage Rick Dalton. Maak kennis met deze prachtige Chileense actrice, die tevens model is.

De inmiddels 29-jarige Lorenza Izzo begon haar carrière als model en werd mede dankzij een ontmoeting met Gisele Bündchen het gezicht van het Braziliaans modebedrijf Colcci. De actrice studeerde journalistiek in Santiago en deed daarna de toneelschool Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. Ze verhuisde naar Los Angeles voor een rol in de horror-serie Hemlock Grove, waarna ze nog een aantal rollen speelde in wat minder bekende films en series. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood wordt haar grote doorbraak.

In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood speelt ze Francesca Cappucci, een actrice en de vriendin van Rick Dalton, gespeeld door Leonardo DiCaprio. “Het is de meest geweldige rol die ik ooit gespeeld heb. Quentin Tarantino is een goochelaar in de manier waarop hij schrijft. Hij vertelt het altijd precies op de manier zoals je het niet verwacht”, zegt Lorenza Izzo in een interview met de Amerikaanse Playboy.

Lorenza Izzo speelt een rol waarvoor menig vrouw een moord zou plegen: de vriendin van het karakter van Leonardo DiCaprio, wiens stuntman gespeeld wordt door Brad Pitt. “Ze waren beide geweldig. Zet het eens in perspectief. Ik ben geboren in the middle of nowhere in Chili en het was altijd al een droom om actrice te worden. Ik had nooit gedacht ooit met Brad Pitt en Leonardo DiCaprio te werken. ‘Is dit echt, gebeurt dit wel, droom ik?’, dacht ik toen ik de set van Once Upon a Time in Hollywood op kwam lopen”, vertelt Lorenza Izzo tegen Hola!.
