De Beastie Boys vieren het 25-jarige bestaan van hun legendarische album Ill Communication met de gratis mini-documentaire 25 Years of ‘Ill Communication’.

25 jaar Sabotage

In 1994 bracht Beastie Boys, een hiphop-formatie met punkinvloeden, het legendarische album Ill Communication uit. De plaat bevat meerdere stijlen muziek en heeft legendarische nummers als Sure Shot, Though Guy, Get it Together en natuurlijk het heerlijke Sabotage voortgebracht.

Het muzikale trio, dat in 1981 is opgericht, bracht daarvoor al de albums Licensed to Ill (1987), Paul’s Boutique (1988), Check your Head (1992) en Some Old Bullshit (1994) uit.

De mini-documentaire 25 Years of ‘Ill Communication’ by the Beastie Boys gaat niet alleen over het gelijknamige album, maar bevat ook archiefbeelden van de making off van de albums Paul’s Boutique en Check your Head. ‘Still Ill: 25 Years of the Beastie Boys’ Ill Communication’ features Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz diving deep into the making of the band’s epic 1994 album – and, arguably, one of their high points as artists and generational touchstones.

Beastie Boys bestond uit Michael Diamond (Mike-D ), Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) en Adam Yauch (MCA) en was actief van 1981 tot 2012. In 2012 overleed Adam Yauch aan de gevolgen van kanker. Daarmee kwam direct een einde aan de legendarische muziekformatie. Het album Ill Communication luister je hieronder in zijn geheel.
